19th August 2022

We feel the end is in sight and some things are actually getting finished. We’re spurred on and encouraged by visitors – including this week, a couple of the Fat Blokes, Jon (with Kathy) and Dave (with Jenny and the girls). We’ve also had the blinds going in and general water-related progress.

We’re all hoping this will be the last time Jon watches Bev in the bath!

Genevieve also came over for a couple of nights to bake a wedding cake (a long story!). She successfully christened the ovens and we all christened a couple of bedrooms which were comfortable and obviously a pleasant step up from the caravan. No loos just yet though.

Bev has been slightly concerned at the slow progress on the paths in the veg patch and in the white garden, so reinforcements in the shape of Matt and Tristan have been very welcome this week. It’s really pushed us on.

Matt has built us a plinth for a sculpture – more on that next week …

  1. Looks like the gardens/paths have leapt forward even since our visit-well done.
Great baking, Genevieve ! I assume Henry took all the credit ?
