This should be the month we move into the house. But will it be ..?! We should have all the basics for living comfortably in place soon and we’re cracking on with some of the finishing touches. A couple of Building Regs issues could delay us – the inspector wants to see the stairs installed and we need a firebreak between the garage and the rest of the house, which means boarding out the garage whereas Chris had thought that would be a job for another year.
One of the larger finishing touches is the Big Bang light-cum-artwork in the dayroom. We were nervous about this but think it works okay. (No comments please!)
The garden is unbelievably dry. The village spring is barely a trickle, plants seem on the brink of death, and some of the more clayey soils are so dessicated it’s like walking on sand on the beach. Rightly or wrongly, we’re still watering.
