The plant room is starting to be kitted out. We now have an electricity meter which means we can get some imported power connected up and in a fortnight the solar panels will be generating our first (free) electricity. We’ve signed up with Octopus Energy which offers a tariff that “understands” our set-up of PV panels and Tesla battery apparently. We shall see …
Marc and Sam have been back a couple of times to install the hot water storage tank and buffer tanks and the copper pipework to feed hot water supply and the underfloor heating. In order to benefit from a more generous renewables subsidy we need this commissioned before the end of the month. Plenty of pressure …


Outside the ground is wet and struggling to drain from the trenches where clay was brought to the surface and the soils compacted by the machinery. But we’re due a spell of nice and dry weather so we should then be able to get going in the garden …

Chris has started putting Rockwool insulation slabs in the bedroom and bathroom walls – for sound-proofing rather heat insulation. He’s following Tony and Aaron and once this is done the walls can be boarded ahead of plastering next month.


Great progress but what’s the obsession with soundproofing? Who knew you two were so noisy! 😆xx
