This week we bounced back from our low-point last weekend, with huge amounts achieved by various teams mucking in and rubbing along together okay. On some days we’ve been into double figures in tradesmen, with double and triple parking. The activity has also kept us very occupied, with plenty of consultation and decisions to be made and menial tasks to keep the site running smoothly and happily. We’ve been struggling to keep up with the blog posts but this load of photos will bring you up to speed. It’s surprisingly tiring watching other people work …!
Marc and Sam installed the pipe work for the ground source heat pump in some very muddy trenchesDave, Mark and Ewan have more or less finished the larch cladding and made a start on battening out the ground floor walls. Dave held onto most of his fingers.Page and Gavin backfilled the rainwater tank and installed the future spring pipe, including passing under the west gate and into our neighbours’, Alastair and Carylin’s, garden. The windows and doors guys were back and gave us a replacement window for the broken one and the front door, and yes, we did choose that colour – Tomato Red!James, our marvellous new plumber, did most of the plumbing first-fix so we’ve settled on how the bathrooms are going to look.Page regraded the parking area to create a safe walkway down to the garage which will now be the only way in and out of the house (to protect the Tomato Red!) Meanwhile the mole is back – and he’s brought some pals with him …
So glad to read that you’ve bounced back and i love the thought of the double and triple parking! I think you’re making much better progress than our new next door neighbours; your beautiful larch cladding makes it look almost finished 🙂
Amazing progress, must be very exciting.
Delighted to hear spirits are raised.
Cheers
