Chris and Bev – Heads in the Clouds

Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to a return to normality … in several ways.

We’ve never been so interested in the weather forecast. Our naive hope to be largely weather tight by the Christmas came to nothing and the house continues to drip with rainwater and hold puddles. Getting the membrane on the flat roofs partly installed only means the same amount of water in fewer places which then spreads across the floor. The dry weather before Christmas wasn’t taken full advantage of – the membrane can only be installed when it’s not raining – and now the installers are scrabbling round for dry days here and there. However, they’re making progress and each day worked sees some improvement.

Our spirits have been lifted by successful trips to the tip, several visits from friends, family and neighbours with words of encouragement and festive joy, and by Jenny’s Christmas cake (a good year).
