And so it begins … At last! Brendan, Shaun and Nathan from MBC are here and getting stuck in. They’re going to work 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week, over the next two or three weeks to erect the timber frame. We’ll be up at 6.30 every morning to let them in.
Yesterday afternoon was spent measuring out the footprint and laying out the sole plates that will hold the panels.

A massive crane and the first loads of panels arrive early today and panels are soon flying through the air into position. There are 78 panels to go up, in what initially seems to us a fairly haphazard order, (but presumably determined by how they’ve best fitted onto the lorries as they’re loaded at the factory in Gloucester).

The guys have found this crane can’t quite reach the furthest extremities of the building so a longer-reach crane is coming on Monday, when we also hope Storm Arwen will have passed through.

How exciting. Good luck!
