Fergal and Jason are sub-contractors to our timber frame company, and have travelled all the way from Leeds to install our insulated slab over the next couple of weeks. It was a slow start on Monday morning as, having left Leeds at 3am to get here by 8, they then had to wait much of the day for hired plant and materials to arrive. By this evening however, lots of additional stone has been laid and reinforcement steel, soil pipes and underfloor heating pipework has been delivered.

In other construction news, we’ve finished the last of the raised beds.

The caravan heating is being fired up for a burst of heat, morning and night, but the daily sunshine has been lovely. 13 down in today’s Daily Telegraph cryptic: Telephone some hotel instead of small caravan (6,4) (Answer tomorrow!)
