Plumbing new depths of stupidity, today Chris came up with a novel way of damaging himself using a ladder. He was lifting some of the damaged coping bricks ahead of Lee the Brick who’s with us this week repairing some of the most damaged areas of the wall.

Chris thought it was a good idea to hang his crowbar on the top rung of the ladder while he carried down some of the bricks. He then forgot about the crowbar and moved the ladder along. The crowbar had quite a long way to fall … Fortunately, and surprisingly, it missed his nose!

There was a lot of blood and we washed him down with the garden hose, before rushing to Shaftesbury minor injuries unit who had a look but sent us to the the larger A&E department in Salisbury. Apparently Shaftesbury can glue but not stitch. Four stitches in one cut, one in another and several hours later – hardly Sewing Bee, hardly Scarface …

  1. Oh Chris I hope you heal quickly. A very drastic way to get Bev’s permission to watch ALL the footy!
