A lovely visit to Knoyle Place, the former rectory in the village, on a NGS open gardens day with Genevieve and Ollie reinforced to us that creating a garden is going to take a very long time!

The bluebells are out on yet another warm, sunny day. It’s no surprise that April is one of the driest on record, and this has made caravan-living and getting things done around the site a lot easier, though the pot-bound lilacs we planted are suffering and may be our first horticultural casualties.

  1. Just imagine when you have paying customers to visit your own splendid gardens ! Fingers crossed for planning—it’s almost more annoying when it just appears to be gross ineffiency rather than a particular objection…..
