30th March 2021

It’s great to have some very welcome relaxation of the lockdown, and at last friends and family can visit us, albeit with restrictions: Kim and Brenda yesterday for coffee and today Spider and Oonagh for lunch. It was the warmest March day for over 50 years apparently and we enjoyed the sunshine.

Bev and Oonagh compared stripes and Spider (Engineering at Exeter) inspected Chris’ surface water diversion. Water from the village spring had unwisely, and maybe illegally, been piped into the bungalow sewer when it was built to avoid flooding. With the bungalow and its sewer gone, we need to temporarily pipe the water all the way through the garden and into the well. Longer term we’ll use it in a water feature.

Paul and Trevor’s son, Dean, are getting the walls up for the store and greenhouse. Sadly they – the buildings, not Paul and Dean – won’t be ready in time to compete in the village fruit and veg show.
