This levelled area at the top of the garden is going to be for picnics and a fire pit. We’re starting to understand how the sun moves around the garden and this corner gets the last of it each evening. We’ve got the shape sorted but are wondering how to finish it off – we’re thinking grass, woodchips and some stone blocks. You’ll see we’re nearing victory over the ivy – not much left now!

We had a bit of a rush at the end of today to empty the bungalow of the last of our junk because the demolition men are unexpectedly arriving in the morning. They’ll start with stripping out the non-crushable and non-recyclable (like carpets and insulation) tomorrow and then the roof comes off on Thursday …. The bats will need their bags packed!
