The last few days have meant a return to some of our ongoing tasks including ivy stripping and rubble moving for us, and roofing of the well-house – nearly finished – for Trevor and Tim.

We’ve ordered an initial 200 native hedging whips to start the planting around the south-east corner – hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, spindle, dog rose, sweet briar, alder, common pear, cherry plum etc. If you look closely you can see the rows where we’ve stripped the grass back and turned the soil to give the hedging a better start. We’d like the hedging to arrive soon so that we can this first lot in and order some more, along with a few trees.

So a productive few days as we came out of the big freeze, but this afternoon rain stopped play – could have done with this in Chennai!
