Sue insists it’s traditional to name a caravan by combining your names so here she is … “Bevis”. We still can’t quite believe it’s here, all 28 by 10 feet of her – we think it’s female.

There is a kitchen and seating area, two bedrooms (the second with twin beds for thin people only) and a shower room.

Ivy stripping is going well and we’re really pleased that the condition of the wall underneath is good. There are some loose and broken coping stones and we need to source some replacements for the warmer weather when repairs using lime mortar can take place. There’s nothing more satisfying than peeling back the matted roots, though there are areas where the roots are too far into the mortar and have to be left.
