A team of renderers have started applying the render to the first storey. There’ll be two coats – the grey base coat and then a colour-through top coat which for us will be a chalky white. The render is sprayed on and then ‘scratched’ or spread by hand.
And inside Dean and Matt have got most of the dayroom tiled out. Given the size of the tiles – 1.2metres square – they easily achieved their record square meterage laid in a day of 30 sqm.
There’s less for us to do in the house – though always some clearing in the evenings – and we must stand back and patiently wait for the specialist trades to do their thing. The truth is we just want the house finished now. So we’re trying to progress a few things in the garden. We’ve dug some more areas and planted veg and also various grasses and shrubs that have been in pots for too long.
