The village has planted an oak for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee above us on Windmill Hill. We have a rota to keep the tree watered and this weekend was our turn. Perhaps we’ll get a gong if it survives !

Gen and Ollie and Henry and Erica came for a work weekend with the focus on the unpleasant job of the last acoustic insulation in the ceiling space between downstairs and upstairs. As well as helping practically, this gives us a morale boost – many hands make light work! We thought we’d mark the event with some graffiti which will be covered up for heaven knows how many years when Taff puts up the plasterboard.

  1. Insulating’s a dirty job, but someones gotta do it ; ) Looks like it’s progressing well! Jackie and I have recently embarked on our own (much smaller!) project in Winchester. If you fancy a break sometime, we would love to catch up with you in the Fox and Hounds!
