Happy birthday, Henry! We had a rare break from the site for lunch with the birthday boy in Bournemouth.

Things have been progressing on all fronts and all roofs. Dave, Ewan and Mark have been working indoors – ceilings, boxing in, pattresses (a new word to us) – and outside to finish the detailing on the larch cladding. There was a big debate on where the drip bar should sit above the windows. Mark lost and the drip is directly in line with the top of the reveal.

Tony and Aaron have started the electrics first-fix, putting in the boxes for sockets and switches and running cables around the house and for lighting. This includes cabling for TVs, speakers and Wifi. We tried to help with stickers to show where we wanted things but we’re still being showered with questions. This feels like a big step forward.

A different Tony came with his trailer-mounted zinc pressing machine. This shapes and cuts the ‘trays’ for Andy to put on the roof. A very impressive piece of kit!

A busy day on the roofs!
