A big day at Clouds Garden Lodge!
Terry the plumber arrived to do the pressure-test. He confirmed that there were signs of plenty of pressure – mainly in the vicinity of Chris … But he cheerily worked his way through the loops, regaling us with tales of his time as a firefighter and having to talk a TV celebrity being treated at Clouds House off the roof. (Can’t say here who it was, but ask Chris over a beer sometime!)

The Building Regulations inspector also arrived pand gave us the thumbs-up so we are good to go with the concrete pour. With both of those hurdles passed, pressure is lifted.
With all the focus on the house foundations, we’d rather overlooked that at long last the greenhouse is going up this week. In contrast to Fergal and the Donegal team, Ben and Shaun will be travelling daily from Hampshire and keeping to normal working hours. The first elements go up so quickly we were wondering how it was going to take three or four days. But the fiddly bits like the lead flashing and glazing will apparently take the time.
We hope you don’t think that we just sit around drinking tea watching others work hard! Bev has led the charge on finishing the compost area – we’re putting woodchips down and have ordered the plants for a holly hedge.

A real “site” for sore eyes! So much progress! Looking forward to the “beer” chat with Chris. xx
