Chris last met up with Basil four years ago when they walked a stretch of Offa’s Dyke together as part of Chris’ walk from John O’Groats to Lands End. Since then he’s put on a bit of weight and is now sporting a greyish beard. Old Exeter chum, Guy, on the other hand is as slim and clean-shaven as ever!
The Euros – with three games on some days to Bev’s dismay – has definitely slowed progress in the garden, but now that we’re into the knock-out stages, and are through some pretty miserable wet and cold weather, we should see some changes.
We’re removing vegetation from the worst stretches of the wall, before Lee skilfully replaces the coping bricks, including some kindly donated by our neighbours, Pam and Nigel. Worryingly, this necessitates a combination of Chris and ladders.
