We’re making a concerted effort on some of the surfacing in and around the greenhouse and in front of the well-house. Bev’s pleased with what we’re getting done around the garden, but not unreasonably would really like one of the jobs finishing. So that might just be the well-house, where we’re laying an apron in front of it where we can put a table and chairs – the geotextile and stone sub-base are down and tomorrow we should finish the top layer of self-binding gravel.
The hired vibrating roller is terrifying and very noisy. It’s a bit like a floorboard sander and you have to keep the drum moving so that it doesn’t dig itself in. Chris’ new ear protectors are essential and surprisingly fetching, and could be equally useful for the “which job are you actually going to finish before starting another?” discussions …
In contrast, it’s back to manual – and a lot quieter and less menacing – basics for the floors of the greenhouse and cold frames.
