A nice view this morning over sunny Somerset from Windmill Hill above us. If you’d like to know more about the Windmill, Bev’s added another tab to the pull-down menu in ‘Bev’s Background’.

Dave has almost completed his repairs to the west gate posts, straightening them and splicing in new oak where the old has rotted away at the base. A lovely job!

One of Chris’ jobs this morning was to take well-wrapped pieces of asbestos roofing that we’ve found around the site to the Council household waste recycling centre. This had to be pre-booked and delivered before the centre was open. It might be tighter regulation compared to when Chris was a waster or it might be Covid-19, but this is what he had to wear to be let in …. Then afterwards, all his protective clothing had to be disposed of at the centre. But you know how much he loves waste!

How did they know my size?

Life in the caravan continues to be challenging, particularly in freezing weather. We wake to frost outside and running condensation inside, so we’ve relented and allowed Dulcie to come onto the bed as soon as we’ve made our first cup of tea, which is like having a canine hot water bottle. We’ve never had a dog who is so happy to see us, but Wilf and Peggy must be turning in their graves, as they weren’t even allowed upstairs!
