Chris’ day today began with his first stint volunteering at the village shop, ‘doing the papers’ at 7am and helping our neighbour, Martin, who clearly thinks we’re at a loose end and need something to occupy us …

It’s been very wet this week and this has delayed progress on the fence. However this afternoon we both got stuck in again – it’s a two-person job – and managed to put in place four panels. If they don’t look straight to any of you, there’s clearly something wrong with the camera!

We’re using Durapost metal posts and composite gravel boards so this fencing should last a long time time. We were planning to be purist and do it in individual featherboards, but common sense and these 6ft by 6 ft featherboard panels prevailed ….

Our planning application for the new house has now been submitted to Wiltshire Council and next week we’ll find a way of displaying our plans on the blog site.
How exciting…. good luck with your plans
