A momentous day today as the caravan arrived in the afternoon.  Steve and Mark from Hull performed miracles as they negotiated the caravan on its flat-bed lorry through the narrow lanes of the village, and then succeeded to manoeuvre it into its designated spot without any crunches or scratches.  Fortunately Matt had already extracted a row of large tree stumps that would have created a problematic obstacle.

It was dark by the time Steve and Mark left.  What a relief that the caravan’s finally here – we ordered it in July but the industry’s been thrown into chaos by the lockdowns and disruptions to supply chains.

The caravan has that ‘new’ smell and should be comfortable.  The challenges are now getting it connected up to the poo tube, water supply, LPG gas, power and broadband etc.  We also need to decide a name for our new home – ‘the caravan’ or ‘the static’ seem a bit dull.

Matt and Tristan have continued to make progress in clearing and levelling the site.  We know this is destroying much of what little habitat exists in the garden for wildlife – and we feel bad about this – but in the longer term we’ll more than make up for it by creating foodsources and habitats through planting etc.
