Some major steps ahead today, ably assisted by Matt and a six-tonne digger from Dorset Plant Hire.  Matt tidied up the entrance and ripped out the central post of the existing gate ahead of the delivery of stone to improve accessability in and out of the site.   This means the skips can go tomorrow and there’s plenty of room for the delivery of the static – fingers crossed!

Matt then lifted the concrete hardstanding by the west gate and cleared the overgrown area around what we think was a filter bed.  We’re building a massive pile of vegetation for rotting down and maybe a bonfire in this area.  The soil is a nutritious and dark brown loam, improved over the decades of vegetable growing and poultry farming.
